This is called Project Natal for the Microsoft Xbox 360. Please watch this video until the end for full effect of how mind blowing it is. The part with the skateboard should solidify how breakthrough and game changing this is in so many ways. Even the simple things like logging you in based on your face are awesome.

They showed a demo of this where you interact with an extremely life like kid and the person playing the demo was wearing a blue shirt and the game character walked up and complimented him on his blue shirt.
